The Short Answer on the Lentor Signature Green Target
GuocoLand stated on 2 July 2026 that the Lentor Central development, now Lentor Signature, is designed to achieve the BCA Green Mark Platinum (Super Low Energy) award, the highest tier of the Building and Construction Authority’s green building scheme for energy performance.
In the same announcement, GuocoLand said it had secured a S$634.7 million green club loan from OCBC and ICBC Singapore Branch to finance the development.
What Green Mark Means for Lentor Signature
Green Mark is BCA’s rating scheme for the environmental performance of buildings in Singapore. It assesses energy efficiency together with other sustainability areas, and Platinum is its top rating.
Super Low Energy is a further recognition for buildings that reach a markedly higher level of energy efficiency than the code baseline, typically by combining passive design, efficient building systems and, where feasible, renewable energy on site.
How a Super Low Energy Design Works at Lentor Signature
Passive design comes first: orienting and shading the towers to cut heat gain, and arranging the blocks and openings to encourage cross-ventilation. Efficient equipment follows, from lighting and lifts in the common areas to pumps and fans, and the energy that remains is the target for further savings.
The developer’s brochure will set out the specific measures adopted for Lentor Signature, together with the facilities and the site plan.
What Residents of Lentor Signature Can Expect
For residents, a Super Low Energy design shows most clearly in the shared spaces: lower energy use for common-area lighting and services, shaded outdoor areas and landscaping that keeps decks and paths cooler. Those savings feed into the running costs of the estate.
Within the home, the layouts and fittings chosen by the developer will be described in the sale documents. Residents’ own energy use still depends on how each household uses air-conditioning and appliances.
The Green Loan Behind Lentor Signature
A green loan is a bank facility tied to environmental objectives. GuocoLand’s S$634.7 million club loan from OCBC and ICBC Singapore Branch was arranged on that basis, linking the financing of the development to its green building target.
For buyers, the loan is a development-level arrangement between the developer and its lenders; it has no bearing on individual home loans, which follow the MAS rules described on the housing loan page.
Green Design Across the Lentor Signature Neighbourhood
The green target sits naturally in an estate planned around Lentor Hillock Park and close to the Central Catchment’s nature parks. A station within about 400 metres also makes it practical to live with fewer car journeys.
The parks and reservoirs guide covers the green spaces nearby.
Questions Buyers Ask About the Lentor Signature Green Target
Buyers often ask whether a green design changes maintenance fees, the comfort of the homes or the value of the property. The developer’s brochure and sale documents are the place to look for the specific measures and their running costs, and the management corporation sets maintenance fees after completion.
What can be said now is that the target was set at the start of the project and backed by green financing, which suggests it is central to the design rather than an afterthought.
Green Building Across Singapore and Lentor Signature
Singapore has set out to make most of its buildings greener over the coming decades, and BCA’s Green Mark scheme is the main tool for measuring progress. Super Low Energy recognition was introduced to push new buildings well beyond the minimum.
For a residential development, reaching that level means designing the whole estate, not only individual flats, around energy use: the shading of facades, the planting of decks, the efficiency of common-area systems and the potential for solar panels on the roofs.
The certification itself is awarded by BCA when the design and the completed building are assessed, and the developer will report it when it is granted.
For buyers who care about the environmental performance of their home, the target gives a clear signal of the developer’s intent at Lentor Signature from the outset.
The developer’s brochure will also describe how the green features are maintained over the life of the estate.
In practical terms, the target tells buyers that energy use has been considered from the first design drawings of Lentor Signature, from the orientation of the three towers to the systems that serve the common areas, and that the developer’s lenders have tied part of the project’s financing to it.
